Boat- and Dive Safety
Each diver should have the following equipment and papers with him:
- full dive equipment with a regulator including alternative airsource
- dive computer
- SMB ( surface signal device)
- torch
- weight belt, even you have a weight integrated BCD (in case of loosing a
weight patch, you still have a weight belt!)
- spare mask stripe and fin stripe
- dive certification and logbook
- medical certification not older than 2 years
Before travelling, please remember to check your dive gear and computer battery, because there is no rental equipment on a liveaboard!
Basic spare BCD and regulator should be available on board.
For boat and dive safety should be on board:
- 50ltr oxygen cylinder
- medical first aid box
- one life jacket per person and a fire extinguisher in each cabin
- 2 life rafts
- Radio, Radar and GPS is usually standard on Egyptian boats
Dive Insurance:
Every diver should be insured for example by DAN (DiversAlertNetwork International). You have to know we are operating in the whole Red Sea till the border of Sudan. The best insurance is not working in the Egyptian Red Sea, if we would not get the help of our chambers here. They are operating privately without any support by the government. Our partner is Baro-Hyper-Med with chambers in Hurghada and Marsa Alam. Most of the divers support these chambers with 7 Euro per trip which includes the first treatment for free, even if they are not insured by another company.
